There are so many things to do when running a household.\u00a0 In order to keep track of everything, there are several checklists to use, and we’re here to help.<\/p>\n

Household Chores – Daily and Weekly Checklist<\/h2>\n

One of the most important lists to establish is your Household Chores Weekly Checklist.\u00a0 We have a few examples, or you can feel free to create your own.<\/p>\n

The first example is our favorite.\u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0pre-filled\u00a0Household Chores\u00a0Weekly Checklist lists all of the daily and\u00a0weekly chores on one horizontal page.\u00a0\u00a0We also left some space for you to add your own chores.\u00a0\u00a0 Just print, and start using.<\/p>\n

Household Chores – Weekly Checklist by Day<\/h2>\n

Another option for tracking your weekly household chores is by day.\u00a0 This Weekly Checklist breaks down your household chores for each day of the week.\u00a0 There’s a column to list your everyday chores, and a separate column to write down the chores you do each week.\u00a0 Below is a sample checklist for you to print:<\/p>\n

Here is an overview of how to set up your Household Chores – Weekly Checklist:<\/p>\n

Column 1:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Day and Date<\/p>\n

Column 2:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Things to do on a daily<\/span> basis<\/p>\n

Column 3:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Things to do on a weekly <\/span>basis<\/p>\n

Daily chores<\/span>:\u00a0 There are various tasks we do on a daily basis.\u00a0 Some things are automatic, and always get done.\u00a0 (i.e. Make breakfast, feed the dogs, take a shower) These things are pretty basic, right?\u00a0 So they don\u2019t make it on the list.<\/p>\n

The key is to select the items that need to get done, but might slip through the cracks if they aren\u2019t on the list.\u00a0 For my daily list, I selected items that were easy to procrastinate:<\/p>\n

  1. Fill dishwasher; Empty Dishwasher<\/span>: Since I started using this list, I\u2019ve been able to keep the dishes under control.\u00a0 For some reason, putting a checkmark on the list is very motivating.<\/li>\n
  2. Open the mail<\/span>: This one seems easy, but it isn\u2019t.\u00a0 How many people have an overflowing mail bin?\u00a0 (You know who you are.) That was me.\u00a0 It was easy to go out and get the mail.\u00a0 Maybe look at the important pieces, and put the junk mail in my pretty mail basket.\u00a0 I vowed to empty the mail basket at the end of the week, but somehow, that didn\u2019t always happen.\u00a0 Now that I have this item on my list, I found I don\u2019t even need a mail basket.\u00a0 I open the mail when it comes in, and put the papers in the right spots.\u00a0 If you need help in this area, read our article: Tips for staying on top of your mail<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Weekly chores<\/span>: As for the weekly items, I chose items that I do on the same day of every week.\u00a0 For example, I put out the trash every Monday, and bring in the trash cans every Tuesday.\u00a0 I also opt to do a load of laundry each weekday.\u00a0 One for: adults, kids, towels, sheets, and tablecloths.<\/p>\n

    Here are a few items you may want to include on your Household Chores – Weekly Checklist:<\/p>\n

    1. Weekly cleaning chores<\/span>: vacuum, mop kitchen, dust, clean bathroom, empty trash cans, straighten rooms<\/li>\n
    2. Weekly meal planning<\/span>: Weekly menu, grocery list, grocery shopping<\/li>\n
    3. Weekly Financial Tasks<\/span>: Pay bills, update budget, file papers, shopping \/errands to run<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
