Cleaning and organizing the bathroom is usually part of our spring and fall cleaning routine.\u00a0 Here are some tips to help you with this project.<\/p>\n

Getting Started: Spring Cleaning – Bathroom<\/h4>\n

We could all use a little motivation when it comes to cleaning.<\/p>\n

Tip #1: Sometimes the best advice is to just start cleaning something.\u00a0 Once you start, you’ll want to continue cleaning.<\/p>\n

Tip #2: Plan to do a little bit of cleaning each day of the week.\u00a0 We all have good intentions, but there’s only so much cleaning we can do in one day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Spring\u00a0and Fall Cleaning – Bathroom: Our Plan of Attack<\/h4>\n

We divided up the cleaning and organizing tasks over a five-day period:<\/p>\n

Day 1: Clean and Organize under vanity and two vanity drawers<\/p>\n

Day 2: Clean and Organize three bathroom closet shelves<\/p>\n

Day 3: Clean and Organize two more bathroom closet shelves<\/p>\n

Day 4: Clean bathroom fan and shower; change shower curtain liner<\/p>\n

Day 5: Clean window and wall sconces; wash curtains; mop floor; wipe down walls<\/p>\n

These projects took anywhere from 1\/2 hour to 1 hour.\u00a0 By knowing we were only planning to spend up to an hour each day, it was easier to allocate the time, and get the job done.\u00a0 It also meant that we weren’t exhausted from trying to fit it all in on one day.<\/p>\n

Organization Ideas for the Bathroom<\/h4>\n

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not a fan of before-and-after pictures.\u00a0 So, you’ll just have to trust me when I say that the “before” pictures were not photo-worthy.\u00a0 However, we are happy to share our “after” photos with you.\u00a0 Note: We opted to post the pictures in black and white, so that you can focus on the organizing tools, rather than all of the colors.<\/p>\n

Organizing Towels: <\/strong>Sometimes just refolding towels and discarding any old ones can freshen up your closet.<\/p>\n

\"Bath<\/a><\/p>\n

Left side<\/strong>: Smaller towels and washable bath mats<\/p>\n

Middle<\/strong>: Hand towels and face cloths<\/p>\n

Right side<\/strong>: Largest towels<\/p>\n

Containers and Organizing Racks<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organizing Suntan Lotion and Bug Spray<\/h5>\n

We opted to put our suntan lotion and bug spray in a cute little basket with handles.\u00a0 It’s easy to reach, and everything is there when we need it.<\/p>\n

\"Bath<\/a><\/p>\n

Organizing Hair Ties, Toothpaste and Floss<\/h5>\n

We places a small shelf organizer in our bathroom closet.\u00a0 This makes great use of our vertical space.<\/p>\n

\"Bath<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s a small basket to hold all of the hair ties.<\/p>\n

There’s another basket to hold our toothpaste and floss.<\/p>\n

Organizing Nail Polish<\/h5>\n

On the top shelf of our organizing rack, we placed our small bin with nail polish supplies.\u00a0 There’s room for nail polish, a can of polish dryer, and nail cutting and filing supplies.<\/p>\n

Using a Three-Tier Shelf in the Bathroom Closet<\/h4>\n

Have you ever seen the expandable three shelf organizer?\u00a0 We have one in the kitchen, and use it to organize our spices.\u00a0 This shelf works great in the bathroom, too.\u00a0 It makes it easy to see the items in all three rows.<\/p>\n

\"Bath<\/a><\/p>\n

We keep our most frequently used items in the front row.\u00a0 There, you’ll find Dixie cups, toothbrushes, and hand cream.<\/p>\n

In the next row is our mouthwash and fluoride rinse.\u00a0 We use these daily, but their large size makes them easy to see and reach in the second row.<\/p>\n

In the back row, we keep our jewelry cleaner and perfume, which are not used as often.<\/p>\n

Shelf Organizer for Bathroom Closet<\/h4>\n

This shelf organizer also makes good use of our vertical space.\u00a0On the shelf, we keep typical bathroom supplies, along with a bin of our Mary Kay supplies.<\/p>\n

\"Bath<\/a><\/p>\n

Underneath the shelf, we store our First Aid Supplies.\u00a0 Everything is labeled so it can be found quickly when needed.<\/p>\n

To the right are some general bathroom cleaners.\u00a0 We keep these on a higher shelf so the kids can’t reach them.<\/p>\n

Organizing Bath Toys and Travel Size Items<\/h4>\n

Small bins come in handy to store like items together.\u00a0 On the top shelf of the bathroom closet, there are three bins containing:<\/p>\n

  1. Bath toys<\/li>\n
  2. Travel size items for trips<\/li>\n
  3. Toothbrushes, soap and deodorant<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We shop the sales and stock up when items cost less money.\u00a0 It also very convenient.\u00a0 When you need a new toothbrush or fresh bar of soap, it’s readily available.<\/p>\n

    Bathroom Cleaning Tips<\/h4>\n

    We love baby wipes.\u00a0 In fact, my husband insists that we will have them in the house long after our boys have grown up.<\/p>\n

    I used a baby wipe to clean the dust off of bathroom fan.\u00a0 Another baby wipe took care of the dust on the wall sconces.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Keeping Your Bathroom Clean<\/h4>\n

    Now that your bathroom is clean and organized, how to you keep it that way?<\/p>\n
