{"id":2149,"date":"2014-01-28T09:25:01","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T14:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/?p=2149"},"modified":"2014-01-24T14:22:24","modified_gmt":"2014-01-24T19:22:24","slug":"how-to-organize-matchbox-cars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/?p=2149","title":{"rendered":"How to organize matchbox cars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever seen a perfectly organized toy room?\u00a0 They are so nice to look at.\u00a0 There&#8217;s a place for everything. \u00a0Check out these ideas for storing matchbox cars, track and loops. \u00a0You&#8217;ll be one step closer to having that organized playroom.<\/p>\n<h3>Car Cases<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The first step is to have car cases.\u00a0 Chances are you&#8217;ll need more than one. \u00a0The typical case holds about 48 cars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Matchbox-cars-in-case-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2326\" alt=\"Matchbox cars in case 2\" src=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Matchbox-cars-in-case-2.jpg\" width=\"267\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Car cases are great because your child can easily transport them.<\/p>\n<h3>Drawers<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We&#8217;ve found the easiest way to store the orange track is in a drawer. \u00a0The pieces lay flat, and are easy to put away.\u00a0 We opted for a Sterilite cart with drawers.\u00a0 The wheels are optional, and we chose not to attach them to our unit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Sterilite-3-Drawer-Cart.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2329\" alt=\"Sterilite 3 Drawer Cart\" src=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Sterilite-3-Drawer-Cart.jpg\" width=\"248\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">For now, one drawer has all of the matchbox track, but there&#8217;s room to expand if necessary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Matchbox-orange-track.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2327\" alt=\"Matchbox orange track\" src=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Matchbox-orange-track-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Matchbox-orange-track-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Matchbox-orange-track.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Large drawer or toy box<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Some of the larger loops are played with more often if you keep them assembled.\u00a0 For our large two loop race track, we chose to store it in a deep drawer of our train table.\u00a0 We have the train table pictured below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Train-Table-Kidcraft-Metropolis.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2330\" alt=\"Train Table -
