like to save? \u00a0Follow these steps to keep your hand-me-downs organized.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Go through the current clothes\u00a0for your\u00a0smallest child. \u00a0In this case,\u00a0I&#8217;m\u00a0working with clothes for two-year old, sizes 24 months and 2T.<\/p>\n<p>Separate the clothes into categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bring\u00a0to Consignment Store\/ Give to Friends<\/li>\n<li>Donate<\/li>\n<li>Keep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">You may choose to <strong>keep<\/strong>\u00a0some\u00a0clothes\u00a0for various reasons:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Is it a sentimental outfit?<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Would you like to save\u00a0the clothes for a future grandchild?<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Can you make something with the outfits?\u00a0 Perhaps a\u00a0blanket or a quilt with the pajamas?<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Or, maybe they can go to a museum when your little one becomes famous. \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Regardless of the reason, there are some clothes you will want to save.\u00a0 Just be sure to wash them first, and pack them away appropriately so they stay safe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Hand-Me-Down-Clothes-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1629\" src=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Hand-Me-Down-Clothes-2.jpg\" alt=\"Hand Me Down Clothes 2\" width=\"199\" height=\"107\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong>\u00a0 Set up new clothes and hand-me-downs from older children.\u00a0 Just unpack the bin\u00a0with the new size (in this case 3T).\u00a0 Now you\u2019re finished with the youngest child.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Next, go through your oldest child&#8217;s clothes. \u00a0In this case, I\u2019m working with a size 5.\u00a0 Use a similar system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep clothes for younger child<\/li>\n<li>Donate or toss clothes that are worn out<\/li>\n<li>Bring unwanted clothes to Consignment Store, or give to a friend<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do this step right, and you&#8217;ll won&#8217;t regret it. \u00a0Group sizes together: all of the size 5 clothes. \u00a0You can make an exception if a shirt is labeled as 4-6.\u00a0 Determine how it fits and keep it with that size.\u00a0 In our case, the shirt was labeled 4-6.\u00a0 It ran right in the middle, so we kept this shirt with our size 5 clothes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Step 4:\u00a0<\/strong> Package up clothes you plan to hand down to a younger child.\u00a0\u00a0We prefer these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Ziploc-Big-Bags-XL-Pack\/dp\/B00J5IM2YK?crid=17RTTE9PBE7UV&amp;keywords=ziploc+extra+large+storage+bags&amp;qid=1662022893&amp;sprefix=%2Caps%2C53&amp;sr=8-5&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=runni054-20&amp;linkId=84b9ec025d8c9f7a838650147c7eaeb3&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ziploc-Big-Bags-XL<\/a> to store the clothes. \u00a0You can also reuse the storage bags.<\/p>\n<p>Label the bags with a marker.\u00a0 For example: 5T \u2013 Winter.\u00a0 If you have clothes for\u00a0boys and girls, you&#8217;ll also want to mark this on the label.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Hand-Me-Down-XL-Ziploc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1628\" https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Hand-Me-Down-XL-Ziploc.jpg 253w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then, put the large bags in a clear plastic tub with cover for safekeeping.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/runningahousehold.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Hand-Me-Down-Bins.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Label the tubs so you can easily see the sizes. \u00a0Put the bins with the smallest sizes on top, since you&#8217;ll use these first.<\/p>\n<p><a
