Is your grass growing?\u00a0 You fertilized, watered, and watched it grow when the sun came out.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s time to mow.\u00a0 Here are a few lawn care tips you’ll want to follow:<\/p>\n

Change up the direction<\/h3>\n

If you mowed your grass straight across last week, change it up by mowing at a diagonal next time.\u00a0 By changing your pattern, you\u2019ll ensure that your grass grows straight.\u00a0 This method is even thought to reduce the number of broadleaf weeds in your lawn.<\/p>\n

Keep an Eye on the Height<\/h3>\n

For the summer, I prefer to keep my grass higher.\u00a0 It keeps the soil moist longer.\u00a0 In return, the grass will not burn out in the hot sun.\u00a0 There are 5 height settings on my mower.\u00a0 I opt to cut at setting 4.\u00a0 That way, if my grass is extra high, I can always raise the mower one level.<\/p>\n

In the fall, I start to lower to level.\u00a0 By the time I\u2019m ready for my final cut, I\u2019m at level 2.\u00a0 By keeping the grass shorter for the winter, it won\u2019t get damaged by the snow.<\/p>\n

Watch Out for Dried Out Spots<\/h3>\n

Dry spots can mean your lawn has grubs.\u00a0 They will destroy your lawn.\u00a0 You can use a chemical product like Grub-Ex or Bayer.\u00a0 There\u2019s also Milky Spore, a natural bacteria which kills grubs.\u00a0 It\u2019s a little expensive, but once it\u2019s applied, the bacteria will continue to spread, so that it works for years to come.\u00a0 According to the manufacturer, Milky Spore is not harmful to humans, pets or the environment.<\/p>\n
